Why I own it?

I came across this car through Estonian Volkswagen Owners forum in 2009. It was a mystery vehicle that some people had seen, but no-one seemed to get in touch with the owner. Many people were really into it and so was I. After some digging I found an email that most likely belonged to the owner and left my contacts there. Few months later I received a phone call from the owner and I quickly went to see the vehicle and made the deal.

It’s a rare kit car that was designed in the 70s and has been built during the 80s based on VW Beetle chassis and technology. To my knowledge there are no other Eagle SS’s in the Baltics and based on the Eagle SS owners club from the UK, there might be a total of 50 cars in the whole world left.

The car originally arrived in Estonia in the early 90s and belonged to famous Estonian speed skier Aare Tamme whose downhill speed skiing record from the year of 1993 (210,896 km/h) is still Estonian national record.

The next owner of the car was a business man and car enthusiast Oleg Gross who purchased it as a project to work with his son Georg, who was a teenager at that time. Later, Georg became a rally driver who has won the Estonian Rally Championships in five times.
